Cookies

Because of the importance of data protection, you will find below information about cookies, how we use them on our website and what options you have if you would like to disable these cookies. If you do not disable cookies, you give your consent to the use of cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files. Usually they are downloaded to your computer or mobile device from the websites you visit. This allows the website to recognise your device as you click through the page or pages (even if you return to the website later) to make it easier for you to use the pages and organise them more individually for you.

The following terms can help you to understand and manage cookies:

Cookies installed on your device by the organisation operating the website are called "first-party cookies".
Cookies that are installed on your device via the website you visit are called "third party cookies". For example, this is a cookie that has been installed by a website analytics company to provide the website operator with information about the number of visitors to its website. So-called "permanent cookies" remain on your device, even if you close your Internet browser. They are activated each time you visit the web page that created this cookie. For example, if a web page uses a "permanent cookie" to remember your credentials, you do not have to enter them every time you visit the website.
By contrast, "session cookies" are not stored permanently and are normally used to serve a web page, for example by allowing a user to switch from one page to another without having to re-register. Once you close your browser, all session cookies on your computer will be deleted. “Flash cookies” are installed by websites that contain media (for example, video clips).
carbon-connect AG uses the following cookies:

How Our Website Functions

Cookies which are technically necessary for the functioning of our website or which offer a service or option requested by you; for example, a cookie that "remembers" your personal preferences, such as your chosen language, or the like.

Performance Analysis of the Website

We use cookies that provide us with aggregate statistics on the number of visitors, which areas of a page are most viewed, details of the city or location of users, length of stay etc. We use Google Analytics for this purpose. Information on the data protection policy of Google Analytics can be found on the corresponding website of Google under Google Analytics Help.

When visiting some of our websites, targeting service providers store temporary cookies on your computer’s hard drive or mobile device that automatically delete themselves after a specified time (up to 5 years).

Social Media Cookies

In order to share content from our website via social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc., a cookie must be installed on your device. For more information, see the policies of the relevant companies.

How can you control cookies?

As described above, you can use cookies to fully exploit the functionality of our website. If you disable cookies, you may find that certain features are not available, as you would expect.

If you do not wish to have cookies, in addition to the special opt-out features that are available to you below, you can set your web browser to disable cookies. Pay attention to the different ways to protect your privacy of the respective browser. For example, you can allow first-party cookies, but you can block third-party cookies or be notified each time a website wants to install a cookie. Please note that disabling cookies will make it impossible to set new cookies. However, it does not prevent previously set cookies from continuing to work on your device until you have cleared all cookies in your browser settings. The instructions for managing cookies on your browser can usually be found under the help function of the browser or in the operating instructions of your smartphone.

Which data is collected and how is this used?

This data is collected and passed on to us:

  • Tracking data (information on the origin or previous page, location data, data volume, your behaviour on our web pages), we also measure the length of stay on our web pages.
  • Browser type and version used as well as the operating system used
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
  • Time of the server request
  • Search terms when using a web browser

In addition, personal data, such as your name, address etc., is saved if you voluntarily provide this information, e.g. when you register, fill in the contact form or answer information inquiries.

How does web tracking work?

In order to adapt our website to your interests and needs, as well as for the purpose of market research, we evaluate data generated when you visit our website. You can always delete cookies via your browser settings.

Retargeting

Our website uses so-called retargeting technology. We use this technology to make our website more interesting for you. This technique allows Internet users who are already interested in our site to advertise on the websites of our partners (e.g. Google and Facebook etc.).

How does carbon-connect AG collect data and how long is it saved?

Personal information that has been communicated to us through our website will only be saved until the purpose for which it was entrusted to us is fulfilled. If you no longer agree with the storage of your personal data or if it has changed or become inaccurate, we will initiate the deletion or blocking of your data or make the necessary corrections (to the extent this is possible under applicable law) when we have received appropriate instructions. Upon request, you will receive information about all personal data that we have stored about you. Contact us via email at info@carbon-connect.ch.

How is data saved, protected and evaluated?

The information gathered through this website is forwarded to the responsible unit within carbon-connect AG. The confidentiality of the data is preserved. The data is not disclosed to third parties unless required, for example, to complete a project (e.g. sending third-party brochures or payment processing). The personal data is only used in accordance with the purpose of the page of our website on which the data was collected from you. Pages on which we collect personal information are usually encoded with the encryption module built into your browser. A firewall system prevents access from the outside.

Data Protection Notice for Social Plugins

Our website uses plugins of social networks (YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook etc.).

Every time you visit a website of our Internet presence, which is provided with such a plugin, the plugin causes the browser you are using to load and display an optical representation of the plug-in from the server of the social network. In doing so, the social network server is informed which particular web page of our Internet presence you are currently visiting as well as other data such as your IP address.

We have no control over the amount of data a social network collects using this plugin. Information on data protection and other notices can be found on the respective social networks:

Our website uses Facebook Pixel of Facebook, Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook") to measure conversion.

This allows us to track the behavior of website visitors after they are redirected to the provider's website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This allows the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimized.

The data collected is anonymous to us as the operator of this website and we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook data usage guidelines. This may allow Facebook to serve advertisements on Facebook pages and outside Facebook. This use of data cannot be influenced by us as the site operator.

The use of Facebook Pixels is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a justified interest in effective advertising measures, including social media.

You will find further information on the protection of your privacy in the Facebook data protection information: https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

You can also deactivate the remarketing function "Custom Audiences" in the Settings for Advertisements section at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. You must be logged in to Facebook to do this.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable Facebook's usage-based advertising on the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.
